MISSION

The A. E. Seaman Mineral Museum preserves minerals to educate and inspire people about mineral and their relevance to society.

VISION

The A. E. Seaman Mineral Museum will be a dynamic museum of national prominence.

The museum will preserve, develop, exhibit and interpret its collection to educate people about minerals, the mining heritage of the State of Michigan, and the relevance of mineral to society. The unique public service role of the museum will enhance the visibility of Michigan Tech and stimulate economic development.

Goal I. Continuously enhance the collections, exhibits and programs in a sustainable manner.

Goal II. Relocate the museum to a new more accessible facility that optimizes visitor experience.

The museum is the officially designated mineral museum for the State of Michigan and is essential to the identity and quality of Michigan Tech by efficiently serving students, faculty, staff, alumni and the broader community. We support the mission of the university.
